The nutrition·ınfection interactions have been reported lately. Nutritional deficiencies have synergetic and antagonistic effects on prognosis of the dişeases. All nutrients, except some aminoacids, have synergetic effects on some disease. Obesity, like malnutrition, has synergetic ef{ects by decreasirıg immunoglobulin levels, protein loses and long recovery time.

The aim of this study was to find out the types of hemoglobin of Karacabey Merino lambs (male) and demonstrate their relationships with liue weight gain. In this study 175 Karacabey Merino lambs (male) were used as the material. Using starch gel electrophoresis technique, blood samples were analyzed for hemoglobirı (Hb) types. Hemoglobirı types; A ( 1 0), AB (12) and B (153) were obtained in Merino lambs. Wearıing line ıveighls and line weights for 3 months (eeding period were 41.55 - 55.35, 41.54 · 53.54, 4 1.76 - 53.96 lg respectively. There was no statistically important relationship between Hb lypes and meat production in the Merino lambs tested.
Glutatyonun rat lensinde glikolizis ve hekzoz monofosfat geçidinin kontrolündeki rolü

In this study the effect of glutathione oxidation on the hexose monophosphate shunt activity of the lens extract had been determined indirectly from the extent of glucose and NADPH2 utilization and lactate production. The oxidant employed were t·butyl hydroperoxide, a compound which oxidizes glutathione erratically by serving asa co·substrate for glutathione peroxidase. The utilization of glucose amount and the accumulation of lactate were increased in low ATP/ADP medium. But, in high ATP/ADP medium utilized glucose amount and lactate accumulation were decreased.The production of NADPH and NADH were also increased by addition of TBHP.
Doğal enfekte koyunlarda fasciola SPP. ve mide-barsak nematodlarına okzan ve albendazolun etkisi

Araştırmada doğal enfekte koyunlardaki Fasciola spp. ve mide-barsak nematodlarına Okzan (Oxfendazole + oxyclozanide; DİFAŞ) ve albendazole un (Valbazen; PFİZER) etkisi incelenmiştir. Bir balosunda 112 mg oxfendazole + 600 mg oxyclozanide içeren Okzar, 1 bolus/40 kg (2.8 mg/kg oxfendazole + 15 mg/kg oxyclozanide); albendazole ise 5 mg/kg ve 2.5 mg/kg. dozlarda kullanılmışlardır.Okzan uygulandığı dozda Fasciola türlerine % 97.33, mide barsak nematodlarına (Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia spp. Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum trigonocephalum, Oesophagostomum venulosum, Chabertia ovina, Trichuris spp.) % 99.96; albendazole, 5 mg/kg dozda Fasciola türlerine % 71.8, midebağırsak nematodlarının %· 99.96, 2.5 mg/kg "dozda .Fasciola türlerine % 60.2, mide-bağırsak nematodları% 99.88 etkili bulunmuştur. Tedaviden sonra 72 saat süreyle yapılan gözlemlerde koyunlarda olumsuz herhangi bir klinik belirti görülmemiştir.
Bornova sun'i tohumlama laboratuvarı boğalarında morfolojik, spermatolojik ve bakteriyolojik araştırmalar

Die fruchtbarkeit ist bei den Haustieren sehr wichtig. Besonders in den Besamungsstationen spielt dieser Merkmal eine grosse Rolle. Bullen, die in Besamungsstation Bornova verwendet werden, wurden morphologisch und klinisch geprüft. Außerdem der Samen und die praeputiale Spülprobe von Bul/en wurden bakteriologisch untersucht.
Merinos kuzularda hemoglobin tipleriyle bazı yapağı özellikleri arasında ilişki üzerinde araştırmalar

The purpose of this study was to find out the types of hemoglobin (Hb) of Karacabey Merino lambs (male) and demonstrate their relationships with some {leece properties. In this study 178 lambs were used as a research material. Red blood eel samples were analysed for Hb types by means of starch gel electrophoresis technique. Hb types A (ll), AB (12) and B (1 55) were obtained in Merino lambs. The values of fibre diameter, staple length, and fleece weight were 21.56, 20.81, 21.88 J.J.4.22, 4.16, 4.24 cm and 1.78, 1.85, 181 kg respectively. There was no statistically important relationship between Hb types and fleece properties of the lambs tested.
Nitrat ve nitrite bağlı immunosupresif etki oluşturan farelerde bazı biyolojik değişiklikler üzerinde araştırmalar

Eighty Swiss mice divided into 4 groups were used. Blood samples were taken from four animals randomly selected to obtain the hematocrit values, hemoglobin levels, red (rbc) and white (wbe) blood cell counts. The groups were J. Negative controls. ll. Vaccinated with Hitehner B 1 New· east/e vaccine, lll. Treated with nitrite and I V. Treated with nitrate in their drinking water. The respective hematocrit values were 47, 45, 41, 45 per cent, while the hemoglobin levels were 10. 7, 10.9, 9. 7. 10.3 g (s) which were considered in the normal limits.
Merinos kuzularda glutatyon düzeyleri ile bazı yün özellikleri arasında ilişki üzerinde araştırmalar

The aim of this study was to find out the levels (types) of glutathione of Karacabey Merino lambs (male) and demonstrate their relationships with same wool properties. In this study 172 lambs were used as a research material. The whote blood samples were analysed by means of spectrophotometric technique for the levels of glutathione. GSH-low lambs had mean levels of GSH of .14.80 mg/100 ml compared with normal values in GSH-high lambs of 72.70 mg/1 00 ml red cells. In the animals possessing GSHh·GSHH; fleece weights; 1. 78-186 kg, staple lengths; 4.144.27 cm, fibre diameters, 21.82-21.60 pm were calculated respectively. Differences between GSH levels in fleece weights, staple lengths, and fibre diameters were non significant.

The purpose of this study was to find out the types of transferrin of Karacabey Merino lambs (male) and demonstrate their relationships with live weight gain. In this study 178 Karacabey Merino lambs were used as a material. Using starch gel electrophoresis technique, plasma samples were analysed for transferrin (Tf) types. Transferring types; AA, AB, AC, AD, AE, BB, BC, BD, BE, CC, CD, DD, DE and EE were obtained in Merino lambs. Weaning live weights and live weights for 3 month feeding period were 41.29-54.59, 42.14-54.04, 43.06-54.93, 41.08-53.34, 45.16-54.83, 41.76-55.11, 38.25-48.18, 43.90-56.26, 36.00-47.62, 42.70-54.65, 41.20-51.70, 39.87-53.43, 41.16-55.00, 37.66-54.83 kg respectively. There was no statistically important relationship between Tf types and meat production in the lambs tested.

Hipofiz, sphenoid kemikteki derin bir çukurcuğa, Sella tursica'ya oturmuş, hipofiz sapı ve infundibulum vasıtası ile diencephalon un tabanına bağlı olan önemli bir endokrin bezdir. Hipofiz, embrional gelisme. mikroskobik yapı ve fonksiyonları bakımından birbirinden tamamıyla farklı iki kısımdan yapılmıştır. Bunlardan birisi adenohipofiz, diğeri ise nörohipofizde. Adenohipofizi ön lob (pars distalis), ara lob (pars intermedia) v.e pars tuberalis oluşturur. Neuro Hipofiz, eminentia mediana, hipofiz sapı ve infundibulum dan ibarettir. Organın bütün lobları bağ dokusundan tek bir kapsüla, stratum fibrozum ile sarılmıştır.

This research was conducted to determine the effects of supplement of Vitamin A and Vitamin E on the spermatological properties of rams which were fiue groups. One of them was control. The others were different test groups whose relations had different amounts of Vitamin A and Vitamin E. In each group there were three 2·2.6 years old rams, loyalty 15 rams were used. The semen were obtained from rums fed by prepared rulion for 2.5 months and spermatological properties were determined. Based on obtained results, it was found that the rams fed by supplemented 60 mg. Vitamin E had better spernıatological properties than the control and the others.

GSH-low lambs had mean levels of GSH of 34.85 mg/ 100 ml. compared with normal values in GSH-high lambs of 72.74 mg/100 ml. red cells.
Merinos kuzularda transferrin tipleriyle bazı yon özellikleri arasında ilişki üzerinde araştırmalar

The aim of this study was to find out the types of transferrin (Tf) of Karacabey Merino lambs (male) and demonstrate their relationships with some wool properties. In this study, 181 lambs were used as a material. Blood samples were analysed for transferrin types by means of starch gel electrophoresis technique. Wool samples were examined for wool yield, staple length and fiber diameter, Tf types; AA, AB, AC, AD, AE, BB, BC, BD, BE, CC, CD, DD, DE and EE were obtained in the lambs tested. The average fibre diameter, staple length iınd wool yield of the animals were 21.6 4.17 cm, and 1,79 kg respectively. There was no statistically important re/o tionship between Tf types and wool properties of the lambs tested.
İnek kolostrumunun sıçanlarda kimi cinsel etkinlikler üzerine etkisi

In this study the effect of colostrum on the spermatogenesis of infertile rats was investigated. Each of the rats in the experimental group was injected with 0.5 ml of colostrum subcutaneously. Controls were injected with 0.5 ml of physiological saline by same route. On the 6 th day following injections rat in both experimental and control groups were sacrificed. Histological examination of testicles reveo/ed an increase of spermatogenic series of cells in tubular of testicles of the rat injected with colostrum. Spermatogenic series of cells were not detected in tubular of testicles of rats in control group.

The purpose of this study was to find out testosterone levels of Karacabey Merino Lambs (male) and demonstrate their relationships with live weight gain. In this study 88 Karacabey Merino lambs were used as research material. At the end of 3 months feeding period, the average live weight of the animals was 53.60 kg. Plasma samples were analysed for testosterone levels by radioimmunoassay technique. Mean plasma free testosterone concentration of the lambs was 8.43 pg/ml. Animals were divided into three groups according to their testosterone levels and tlıe findings were correlated with live weight gains. Asa result there was no statistically important relationship between testosterone level and liue weight gain in the lambs tested.
The efficacy of 'vermadax' and 'nilzan' against natural infections of dicrocoelium dendriticum, fasciola spp. and gastro - intestinal nematodes

Bu araştırmada doğal enfekte koyunların Dicrocoelium dendriticum, Fasciola spp. ve mide-barsak nematodlarına Vermadax ile Nilzan 'ın etkisi incelenmiştir. Ağız yoluyla 0.25 ml/kg (50 mg/kg thiophanate + 5.6 mg/kg brotianide) dozda kullanılan Vermadax D. dendriticum'a % 99.8, F. hepatica'ya % 98.4, F. gigantica ya% 64.8, mide-bağırsak nematodlarının % 99.3;1 tablet/20 kg (15 mg/kg fetramisole + 15 mg/kg oxyclozanide) dozda kullanılan Nilzan ise F. hepatica ya % 84.6 mide-bağırsak nematodlarının % 98.7 etkili olmuş, D. dendriticum ve F. gigantica ya etkisiz kalmıştır.

AO/ASIF technique was especially performed on the treatment of the fractures of the long bones of the extremities. This technique was applied with compression plat, cortical and spongious bone screw. Also this described technique was occurred actually on the field of Veterinary Orthopedic Surgery. The purposes, special instruments and materials, applying properties, advantages and disadvantages of this technique were·described.
Tek yönlü beslenen sığırlar üzerinde biyokimyasal araştırmalar

In this study, the clinical and biochemical changes of fattening cattle, which were fed only wheat straw at the beginning and end of the feeding program, were determined. Average sera Ca, P, total lipid, total protein, uric acid and Vitamin A in test group, respectively, % 7,40 mg., % 7,75 mg., % 413,4 mg., % 5.39 g., % 0.954 mg., 13,03 m c/ 100 ml. plasm, and in control group, respectively , % 9,683 mg., % 5,59 mg., % 540 mg, % 6,615 g., % 1,222 mg. and 18,64 m cg/100 m l. plasm. were found. Differences in Ca values were found statistically important (P < 0.05).
Türkiye'de koyunlarda adenovirus enfeksiyonu üzerinde araştırmalar

Previously isolated ovine adenovirus type 5 (OA5 ) was adapted and propagated in the primary and secondary tissue cultures of calf testicular epithelium, to primary cultures of calf renal epithelium, and MDBK cell cultures. Neutralizing antibodies against this virus were found in 22.29 % of blood sera obtained from 700 sheep coming from different parts of Turkey. The concentration of neutralizing antibodies was ranging from 1/3.98 to 1/431.6 when the positive sera was titrated. These results suggested that tha adenovirus infections by OA5 in sheep in Turkey are remarkably frequently detectable and this requires the same measurements and special care before it is too Iate.
Evcil hayvanlarda mandibula kırıklarının klinik değerlendirmesi

In den Jahren 1979-1986 wurden Tiere mit Unterkieferfrakturen, die zur Chirurgischen Klinik der Veterinärmedizinische Fakultat der Istanbul Universitat gebracht worden waren, auf die Ursachen, Lokalisationen und Behandlung dieser Frakturen hin untersucht, und die Ergebnisse ausgewertet. In diesem Zeitraum wurden 16892 kranke tiere untersucht, bei 1385 Tieren wurde ein Knochenbruch festgestellt von denen 73 (% 5.3) Unterkieferfrakturen waren. Von diesen Frakturen wurden 49 bei Katzen, 19 bei Hunden, 2 bei Pferden, eins beim Schäfchen, 2 bei Ziegen festgestellt und deren Lokalisationen und Ursachen in Tabelle 2 und 3 angegeben.
