Özet
In this research, the physico-chemical treatability of landfill leachate with domestic wastewater was investigated. For the physico-chemical treatments, leachate was pretreated using lime, ammonia stripping, Iron (III) chloride (FeCl3.6H2O) or aluminum sulphate (Al2(SO4)3·18H2O). Chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiencies of 35%, 55% and 59% were obtained for pre-treatment with lime, FeCl3.6H2O and Al2(SO4)3·18H2O, respectively. Raw leachate was mixed with activated sludge at mixture ratios of 1/1, 1/2, 2/1, 2%, 5% and 10% (v/v), and a 1343% increase in the respiration activity was obtained for the 2% mixture ratio. Respiration activity values increased by 1462% and 1326% for the mixture ratios of 5% and 10%, respectively, of domestic wastewater with leachate that was pre-treated with lime and ammonia stripping. Based on the respirometric measurements, it was concluded that leachate pre-treated with lime and ammonia stripped can be economically treated with domestic wastewater.
