Üniversite-iktidar ilişkisi üzerine sosyolojik bir araştırma: Foucault ve Bourdieu

Abstract

Elinizdeki bu metin, üniversite-iktidar ilişkisine dair sosyolojik bir araştırmadır. Orta Çağ’dan günümüze, üniversite idealinin dönüşümüne yönelik sosyolojik bir sorgulamadır. Bu metin, Michel Foucault ve Pierre Bourdieu’nun makro ve mikro analizlerini üniversite kontekstinde birleştirme denemesidir. Bu çalışmada hem üniversite tarihine dair literatür hem de Michel Foucault ve Pierre Bourdieu’nun eserleri incelenerek temel bir argüman öne sürülür: Hakikat kurumu olarak tecessüm etmiş olan üniversite, iktidarla diyalektik ilişkisi sonucunda bu özelliğini yitirmiş ve iktidarın biçimlendirici etkisi altında tarihsel hakikatleri söylem yoluyla üreten bir kurum haline indirgenmiştir. Bu metin tarihi, süreklilikler olarak değil; kopuşlar ve süreksizlikler olarak görmektedir. Bu sebeple sırasıyla Orta Çağ’ın Birinci Nesil Üniversitelerinden Modern Çağ’ın İkinci Nesil Üniversitelerine ve son olarak günümüz Post-modern neoliberal dönemin Üçüncü Nesil Üniversitelerine geçişi inceleyen bu çalışma üniversite tarihini, iktidarların mücadele tarihi olarak okumaktadır.
