The shrine of Orhangazi / Bursa: Opus sectile floor mosaic; its state of preservation and suggestions about its restoration

Abstract

The shrine of Orhangazi was visited at the demand of the Bursa Municipality on September 21, 2011. After the examination of the mosaic floor, some problems was identified on it. The aim of the paper is to descibe the shrine of Orhangazi mosaic pavement as an archaeological feature and determine their problems which depends on wheather condition and using. The paper also includes recommendations about the conservation and restoration of the mosaic.
