Industrial applications of electrical discharge compaction process for powdered metals

Abstract

Industrial applications of electrical discharge compaction process for powdered metals were studied. In this process the electricity stored in capacitors is discharged by means of a spark switch, allowing an instantaneous current to pass through the circuit. The results indicate that this method combines the advantages of compacting metal powders and fast sintering.
