Modelde yer alan tum bagimsiz degiskenler, sigaranin fiziksel bagimlilik duzeyini anlamli bicimde aciklamamaktadir. Diger yandan, sigaranin psikolojik bagimlilik duzeyi bagimsiz degiskenler tarafindan anlamli sekilde aciklanmakta ve model, toplam varyansin %4’unu aciklamaktadir.
This study was conducted to determine the role of psychological resilience in the relationship between nicotine dependence and anxiety among individuals who smoke. The research sample consisted of 386 adult individuals aged 18 and over who smoke. The mean scores of the data collection instruments used in the study were calculated as follows: Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Test (FNBT) 5.42; Psychological Dependence on Smoking Scale (SPBDÖ) 43.69; Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAÖ) 7.41; and Adult Psychological Resilience Scale (YPSÖ-21) 97.83. A statistically significant difference was found between gender and physical nicotine dependence (FNBT), with women exhibiting higher levels of physical dependence than men. No significant differences were found between gender and psychological nicotine dependence (SPBDÖ), anxiety levels (BAÖ), and psychological resilience (YPSÖ-21). There were no statistically significant differences between marital status and physical nicotine dependence (FNBT), psychological nicotine dependence (SPBDÖ), anxiety levels (BAÖ), or psychological resilience (YPSÖ-21). No statistically significant relationship was found between age and physical nicotine dependence (FNBT) or psychological nicotine dependence (SPBDÖ). However, a low-level positive statistically significant relationship was found between age and both anxiety (BAÖ) and psychological resilience (YPSÖ-21). According to the relationships between the total scores of the scales, no statistically significant relationship was found between physical nicotine dependence and anxiety or psychological resilience. A low-level negative statistically significant relationship was found between psychological nicotine dependence and both anxiety and psychological resilience. All independent variables in the model did not significantly explain the level of physical nicotine dependence. On the other hand, the level of psychological dependence was significantly explained by the independent variables, with the model explaining 4% of the total variance.
