Item Emotional disturbances and their relation to learning(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1988) Çelen, Nermin; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi/Eğitim Bilimleri Bölümü.Children learn at various rates of speed. Some of them who have physical defects (poor vision or hearing) may fail to learn. Physical defects are not the only reasons for non-learning. The children who have emotional conflicts show the symptoms of non-learning also. Resistance to learning is accompanied by school phobia, truancy, extreme withdrawal from classroom activities. Warm and accepting class-room teachers help to solve the problems of child ren. Sometimes they are not capable to over come the severe ones. The child who has serious disability needs special help from a trained therapist.Item Literature teaching in the English department(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1988) Craik, Roger; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Eğitim Fakültesi.Literature teaching in the English Department plays an important role in language teaching, since literature is not just language, but it is language that worki at full stretch; it is artful shoping of knowledge and experience. Excerpts on the course are corefully selected in the hope that they would fumish students with vocabulary and increase their proficiency. They also make them bring their own observations, comments and sensibilities rather than memorizing as well as illustrating the period it which the pieces were writte. Wifred Owen 's "Futility" toke as an example here is not only presentation of vocabularly and structure atıd the illustation of the situation; but it is something that brings out metaphysical quetions on students' minds. The appreciation of the poem has been made together with the students and some questions for motivation have been asked. Active porticipation brings about many approaches as well as the students' observations and sensibilities as seen here, and that is what we except rather than vocabulary and structure development.Item Mowrer's two factor learning theory and learning disabilities(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1988) Özyürek, MehmetDavranış değişikliğinin nasıl olduğu sorusuna cevap aranma ktadır. Item The new art and a fictional analysis of kurt vonnegut's breakf ast of champions and god bless you mr. Rosewater(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1988) Okur, NigünKurt Vonnegut wrote Breakfast of Champions in 1974. The novel clainis to set forth a reform again stall the rules set by Henry James, as to the content and form. Dialogues are best examples of lack of communication in our society. The drawings and scetches which imüate those of Pop Artists reveal an ironic representation of current American values. Vonnegut approaches his own society with a critical insight. God Bless You Mr. Rosewatcr is the story of a millionare who has left New York to establish a foundation in lndiana. Eliot R osewater, the protolfonist, is ready to give "infinite love" but ''finite money" to anyone who com es to his door. Vo nnegut criticizes this materiolistic outlook to life, besides he claims that such hard-care realism destroys all hopes for a more pleasant future. His ideas harmoniouiy blend the thpories which emerged by the end of 1960 in the U.S. and came to be known as the "New Art". In the New Art emphasis lies on self· experience both for the artist and the audience. New Art is anti intellectual and it values immediacy and sensation. Style is intportant in the sense that it finds expression in comics magazines and bookş. Best examples of New Art can be seen in science fiction novels, commercial and experimental films, "country music" or even in "computer music". lt also uses such massmedia as television and radio. Kurt Vonnegut through his both novels, deal exclusively with the "New Are'.
