Item Open Access Determination of some occupational and sociologıcal characteristıcs of thracian beekeepers(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2004) Sıralı, Recep; Doğaroğlu, MuhsinThis survey was conducted to determine occupational and sociological structures of beekeepers in Thracian Region of Turkey. The data was obtained through interviews and questionnaires applied to 201 beekeepers distributed in 19 districts of the region. According to survey results, beekeepers have, on average, an age of 51, an educational background of 6 grades and their experience in beekeeping extends over a period of 11 years. 65.68 % of beekeepers are graduates from primary school, for 40.3 % of the beekeepers interviewed, experienced ones in the field constitute the main source of information and 29.3 % of beekeepers attended the course, 45.94 % of beekeepers need to be informed include combatting against bee diseases and pests. The survey reveals that 71.7 % of beekeepers in the region are farmers and 48.76 % of beekeepers are members of the agricultural chamber. 97.5 % of beekeepers are engaged in part-time beekeeping activity for subsistence and 90.1 % of all beekeepers are engaged stationary beekeeping.Item Open Access Bal arılarında (apis melifera l.) polen toplama süresinin(gün) koloni gelişimi ve bal üretimine etkisi(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2004) Bayram, Ahmet; Akyol, Ethem; Yeninar, Halil; Öztürk, CahitBu çalışma, bal arısı (Apis melifera L.) kolonilerinde polen tuzağı takılı kalma süresinin (gün) kuluçka üretim etkinliği, koloni populasyon gelişmesi ve bal verimi üzerine etkisini araştırmak amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırma 9 haftalık bir dönemde yürütülmüş ve 5 farklı muamele grubu denenmiştir. Bu muamele grupları; sürekli polen tuzağı takılan I. grup, bir gün arayla takılan II. grup, dört gün takılıp dört gün takılmayan III. grup, yedi gün takılıp yedi gün takılmayan IV. grup ve hiç takılmayan V. grup olacak şekilde düzenlenmiştir. Deneme sonunda elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesi sonucunda; gruplarda ortalama arılı çerçeve sayıları sırasıyla, 7.45±0.33, 8.55±0.80, 8.15±0.33, 7.05±0.64 ve 9.55±0.36 adet; kuluçka alanı ortalamaları sırasıyla, 1875±161.63, 1739±196.84, 1777±246.35, 1630±236.53 ve 2318±167.45 cm²; bal verim ortalamaları sırasıyla, 8.6±0.69, 11.9±1.77, 9.4±0.73, 7.3±0.94 ve 14.9±0.55 kg ve toplam polen verimleri ise sırasıyla, 1088±95.25, 409±44.61, 287±31.13 ve 237±44.41 g olarak bulunmuştur. Kolonilere polen tuzağının takılması koloni gelişimini, kuluçka üretimini ve koloninin bal verimini önemli oranda etkilemiştir.
