Abstract
500 pregnant women were included in the study of 31152 female patients admitted to the emergency room. 147 patients (29.4%) labor, 78 patients (15.6%) nonspesifik abdominal pain, 61 patients (12.2%) preterm labor, 60 patients (12%) abortus, 37 patients (7.4%) urinary tract infection, 16 patients (3.2%) preeklampsi, 15 patients (3%) new diagnosis of pregnancy, 10 patients (2%) intrauterin ex, 9 patients (1.8%) hiperemezis gravidarum, 5 patients (1%) ectopic pregnancy and 62 patients (12.4%) with other diagnoses were put. 276 (55.2%) were hospitalized, 220 (44%) were discharged, and 4 (0.8%) were referred to another hospital. Pregnant women are often admitted to our emergency department and are an important part as 2% of all female applicants. Therefore it considered the creation of a separate unit for pregnant patients in the emergency department.
