Abstract
In the present study, the anastomosis which was obtained with the adhesive effect of plasma on transected sciatic nerves were examined. For this purpose rats were divided into two groups. In experimental group I (n: 5) after transection the nerve ends were brought together and plasma applied on them. In the experimental group II (n : 5) a large segment of sciatic nerve was removed and a graft obtained from other sciatic nerve were inserted between the cut ends and plasma applied on. Six weeks later, sciatic nerves were removed and ultrastructural analysis were performed in all groups for comparison of plasma adherent effect upon regeneration. The study showed that plasma adherent effect more successful in grafted group than primarily anastomosis group.
