Sekizinci sınıfta permütasyon ve olasılık konularının aktif öğrenme ile öğretiminin uygulama düzeyi öğrenci başarısına etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, sekizinci sınıf İlköğretim Okulu Matematik Dersi Öğretim Programı’nda yer alan Permütasyon ve Olasılık ünitesinde yer alan konuların sekizinci sınıfta aktif öğrenme ile öğretimi yapılmış ve bu öğretimin uygulama düzeyi öğrenci başarısı üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışma, deney ve kontrol gruplu olarak planlanmış ve iki farklı ilköğretim okulunun toplam 197 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisi üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Aktif öğrenmeye ve yıllık ders programına uygun olarak ders planları hazırlanmıştır. Deney grubunda, bu ders planlarına uygun olarak haftalık ders saatleri içerisinde öğretim gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğretimin sonunda, öğrenci başarısını ölçmek amacıyla 4 tanesi uygulama düzeyinde hazırlanmış olan 10 açık uçlu sorudan oluşturulmuş bir ünite başarı testi uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmada, ünite başarı testinde yer alan sorulardan sadece uygulama düzeyinde hazırlanmış olan 4 soru ile ilgili olarak elde edilen verilerin değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, buluş yoluyla öğrenme ve oyunlarla öğretim yöntemlerinin ağırlıkla kullanıldığı aktif öğrenmeyi esas alan öğretimin uygulama düzeyi öğrenci başarısını anlamlı derecede arttırdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This study investigated the effects of teaching Permutation and Probability topics by the active learning on students’ success in the application level in the eighth grade. The study was planned as one with experiment and control groups and it was conducted in two different primary schools with 197 eighth grade students. The lesson plans prepared according to the active learning mainly used innovative learning and teaching with games methods were implemented in the experiment group during the classes in their weekly program. In the experimental group, the instruction according to the this lesson plans. At the end of the instruction, an achievement test consisting of 4 open-ended questions was administered in order to assess the students’ success. It was seen as based on the findings that teaching the unit by the active learning mainly used innovative learning and teaching with teaching with games methods caused a meaningful increase in the students’ success in the application level.
