Bir atta tromboflebitis olgusu

Abstract

Safkan İngiliz ırkı, erkek, 4 yaşlı bir at yarış sonrasında boynun her iki tarafının şişmesi ve sonrasında boynunu hareket ettirmekte isteksiz olması şikâyetleri ile getirildi. İnspeksiyonda, sağ regio sulcus jugularis’te lokal kıl dökülmeleri ve eski fistül yaraları görüldü. Palpasyonunda ise lokal hassasiyet ve yaklaşık 18 cm’lik vena jugularis çevresinde yumuşak doku sertliği algılandı. Ultrasonografik muayenede, birbiri içine girmiş ekojenik ve hipoekoik halka şeklindeki damar katmanları belirlendi. Tromboflebitis purulenta tanısı konularak sağ vena jugularis’in cerrahi parsiyal rezeksiyonu gerçekleştirildi. Postoperatif erken dönem ve sonrasında herhangi bir komplikasyonla karşılaşılmadı.A thoroughbred English, male, four-year-old horse was presented with complain of bilateral neck swelling and unwilling neck movements after racing. In the inspection, local alopecia and old fistula wounds were observed on the region of right sulcus jugularis. In the palpation, local sensibility and about 18 cm soft tissue stiffness were also felt. Ultrasonographical examination determined echogenic and hypoechoic annular layers in the vessel lumen, which was specific finding for thrombophlebitis. Diagnosing the thrombophlebitis purulenta, surgically partial resection of right vena jugularis was carried out. Any complication was not encountered in the postoperative early and follow-up periods.
