Abstract
Weber argues that Islam emerged as a bedouin warriors’ religion motivated by booty and sexual conques. According to him warrior vocabulary of militaristic motives was the sole motivational language of Islam, and acknowladged hedonist ethics about women, luxury and wealth. He saw “the liberal market”, 2 “rational technology”, “rational law”, “autonomous cities, and “bourgeous class” as preconditions of capitalism which contained all rationalities, which were not seen in İslamic societies. Weber overstated the role of the warrior. In fact, Early Islam was a trumph of Meccan merchants. He was a famous sociologist that did not follow his own sociological programme about Islam.
