Abstract
Cellular Manufacturing is an approach that separates a production system into independent subsystems and aims to reflect the fast and effective working ability of the subsystems to the entire system. In this study, a sample cellular manufacturing system application is presented to create a model for enterprises in the ready-to-wear industry that want to adapt quickly to changing market conditions in today's competitive environment and to increase their productivity. For this, investigations were made in an enterprise producing military clothing. The production process of nine types of products has been observed in the enterprise and operational information has been collected. The rank order clustering, row and column masking, and similarity coefficient methods were analyzed to determine the machine cells and, as a result, the machines and product families are grouped to create two cells. The performance of the proposed cellular structure was evaluated in terms of grouping efficacy, machine utilization rate, intercellular flow efficiency, and cell utilization rate.
