Abstract
This study, which consists of five chapters, attempts to present communicative materials which create situations and give students opportunities to use the foreign language in conversational English out of a textbook. The study emphasized the importance of real-life communication and situation to be brought or created into the classroom. In the first chapter, the above-mentioned emphasise was presented. In the second chapter, the theories to teach communicative competence and its relation mthil|.nguistic competence and their places in teaching foreign/second language. In the third chapter, it was dealt with the language teaching aids, especially for conversational English. The forth chapter is concerned with the materials used out of a textbook. These materials were specially chosen in order to serve foreign language teachers as a handbook for their conversation-purposed lessons. The last chapter reviews the importance of creating real-life communication in class, and the shortcomings that might arouse in using the communicative materials.
