Nikaia ve hinterlandında Hellenistik ve roma dönemi kültleri

Abstract

Nikaia’nın Hellenistik ve Roma kültleri hakkında şimdiye kadar kapsamlı bir çalışma yapılmadığından dolayı, tanrı/tanrıçalar, İmparator kültleri ve ‘Doğal kült alanları’, yüksek lisans tezi kapsamında araştırılmıştır. Nikaia ve egemenlik sahasında bulunan betimli ve yazıtlı adak stelleri, heykeller ile sikkeler incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak ise, bölgede inanılmış olan tanrı ve tanrıçalar tespit edilmiş, ne tür bir İmparator kültünün mevcut olduğuna ve bölge halkının bu tanrılara neden inandıklarna dair açıklık getirilmiştir. Yukarıda sözü edilen arkeolojik verilerin üzerlerinde bulunan betimlerde ve yazıtların verdiği bilgiler doğrultusunda, hangi tanrı ve tanrıçaların daha yoğunlukta bir tapınım gördüğü ve nasıl tasvir edildiği tespit edilmiştir Daha sonra ise, tanrı ve tanrıçaların tespit edildiği bölgelerde bulundukları çevreyle bağlantıları araştırılmış ve bu bağlamda bulunan tanrı ve tanrıçaların bölgede hangi özel sıfatlarla (epitet) anıldıkları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bu epitetlerin Nikaia dışında başka kentlerde de kullanıp kullanılmadığına bakılmış ve sonuç olarak Nikaia’nın dini ve kültürel yapısına açıklık getirilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Since no comprehensive studies have been done about the Hellenistic and Roman Cults of Nikaia, the god / goddess, the Cult of the Emperor and the "Natural Cult Areas" have been investigated in this Thesis. Votive steles, statues and coins with depictions and inscriptions in the area of Nikaia and its hinterland were examined. As a result, the gods and goddesses who were believed in the region were identified and clarified, what kind of Emperor cult existed and why the people of the region believed in these gods. From the depictions of archaeological materials mentioned above and the information given by the inscriptions, it was determined which gods and goddesses were more worshiped and how they were depicted. Then, the connection of the gods and goddesses with their environment which they were found in was determined for identifying the gods and goddesses in this context with their special adjectives (epithetes) in the region. In addition, it was investigated whether these epithetes were used in cities other than Nikaia and as a result, the religious and cultural structure of Nikaia was clarified.
