Abstract
This study was made to determine the production parameters and economic efficiencies of layer genotypes in enterprises of Bursa province and its near vicinity. The ages of 50 % egg production of Isa, Hisex, Shaver, Lohman and Babcock genotypes were found 155.5, 164.3, 154.5, 151.7 and 160.0 days, respectively. The additive egg numbers per hen produced up to 72 weeks of ages by the layer genotypes were found 295.6, 258.0, 281.0, 288.8 and 265.9 for hen-day, respectively. These differences were found significant (P<0.01). The average feed consumption per hen for Isa, Hisex, Shaver, Lohman and Babcock genotypes were found 41.61, 43.88, 42.30, 41.55 and 39.71 kg on a hen-housed basis between 21 and 72 weeks of ages, respectively. The egg numbers for per kg feed consumed of above genotypes were calculated 6.64, 5.44, 6.48, 6.52 and 6.18, respectively. The average rate of mortality in genotype groups were found 13.40, 13.88, 4.90, 11.95 and 13. 69 percent for laying periods, respectively. The differences among groups were found significant (P<0.05). The variable and fixed cost for laying periods were calculated 92.67 and 7. 33 percent for brown egg enterprises, 93.28 and 6. 72 percent for white egg enterprises, respectively. The input-output ratio were found 1.225 and 1.247 for brown andwhite egg enterprises. it was concluded that the performance of the genotypes was the same figures that of the references, approximately and the economic profitability of the enterprises in the area was markedly Iow.
