Abstract
In this research, It was carried out to determine the noise levels and energy consumption of six vacuum pump mufflers. According to the given criteria, the most suitable muffler type was determined. In these tests, plugs were attached to the nipple-course. Noise levels of every muffler was measured periodically. Mufflers were examined between 0-4000 Hz frequency mid data were given in charts. The, most suitable, muffler type was determined by comparing the data given on the graphics. AU the exhausts in the research were determined to be effective between the, noise levels with the frequencies of 1000 and 3000 Hz, whereas the efficiency of exhausts not maintained between the ranges of 3500 and 4000 Hz. The exhaust which was found suitable in the research was determined to absorb a noise of 25 dB between the frequencies of 1000 and 3000 Hz.
