Abstract
The experiment was carried out in Bursa Uludağ University, Faculty of Agriculture, Research Farm to investigate the effect of vermicomposting on grain yield and yield components of some broad bean varieties during the vegetation period of 2022-2023. In the experiment, Sevil and Fabiano varieties were used as experimental material and the effects of four different fertilizer doses of 0, 100, 200, 300 kg/ha on grain yield and yield components were investigated. The experiment was arranged in split plots experimental design with three replications in randomized blocks. Broad bean varieties were applied in the main plots and fertilizer doses were applied in the sub-plots. In the experiment, biological yield, plant height, height of the first pod from the ground, number of internodes with pods, number of branches, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, number of grains per plant, grain weight per plant, grain yield, harvest index, hectoliter weight, 100 grain weight and crude protein ratio criteria were examined. According to the results of the research, it was determined that there were no statistically significant differences between the doses of vermicompost applied in other yield factors except number of branches, number of grains per plant, grain yield and crude protein ratio. The highest number of branches (2.53 pieces/plant) was determined in plots where 200 kg/da vermicompost dose was applied. The highest number of grains per plant value (12.5 pcs/plant) was determined in plots where 300 kg/da vermicompost dose was applied. It was observed that grain yield per decare increased with increasing vermicompost dose. The highest crude protein rates were 24.9% and 24.1% in 300 kg/da and 200 kg/da vermicompost applications, respectively.
