Abstract

The present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the methods of and the factors affecting the acquisition of comtemporary knowledge in the social studies lessons in primary education programs according to the criteria required by the age of information. The research was done according to the survey model and the six schools in Bursa city. The participants of the study were the 50 teachers. The data were analyzed with SPSS 10.0 version. The data anaysis was done with the following: Frequency Analysis, Descriptive Statistics, Correlation Analysis, Regression Analysis, Q-Square Tes, Pearson Q-Square and Fisher Q-Square, Kruskal Wallis Test, Mann Whitney U Test, The Reliability Analysis, One Way Variance Analysis, Independent Samples T-Test. Qualitative data were analyzed with frequency analysis. The results of the study showed that the factors such as teacher affecting the acquisition and usage of the contemporary knowledge in the social studies education.
