Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı M c R™ altmanifoldlannm tipini tayin edip 2-tipindeki yüzeyleri sınıflandırmaktır. Bu çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde genel kavramlar tanıtıldı. ikinci bölümde altmanifoldların mertebesi incelendi. Üçün cü bölümde k-tipinde altmanifoldİarın temel özellikleri incelendi. Bazı yüzey örnekleri verilip bunların tipleri tayin edildi. Son bölümde ise 2-tipinde yüzeyler sınıflandırılmaya çalışıldı. özellikle 2-tipinde Dupin hiperyüzeyleri ve null olanları incelendi. Ayrıca Chen yüzeylerinin tipi tayin edildi.
The object of this thesis is to study submanifolds, M in IRrn with finite type. Also classify 2-type hypersurfaces. The thesis has four chapters. Chapter 1-2 contains some well-known results which will be used in the other chapters. Chapters 3-4 contain the original work. In the first chapter we introduce some basic concepts on submanifold theory. In the second chapter we make some general observation about the type of submanifolds. In chapter 3 we give basic properties of submanifolds of k-type. In the final chapter we give a cl assi f i cati on of 2-type surfaces, especially Dupin hypersurfaces, spherical hypersurfaces and null ones. We also consider Chen surfaces and their types.
