Abstract
Edirne’nin eski yerleşim yerlerinden biri olan Kaleiçi, 1903 yılında gerçekleşen Harik-i Kebir adıyla anılan büyük bir yangından sonra yeniden imar edilmiştir. Izgara plan şeması üzerine yeniden inşa edilen Kaleiçi semti, oldukça zengin bir kültür birikiminin ve kültürel mirasın olduğu 360 dönümlük alandan oluşmaktadır. Kaleiçi; gayrimüslim tebaasının ağırlıkta yaşadığı tespit edilen iki mahalleden oluşmaktadır. Konutların inşa edildikleri günden, günümüze kadar geçen zamanda çok fazla deformasyona uğradığı, hatta bir kısmının bugüne ulaşamadığı görülmüştür. Bu çalışma ile amaçlanan farklı plan tiplerine ve özelliklerine ait olan kendine has özgün mimarisiyle Edirne Kaleiçi evlerinin, mimari ve süslemelerine ait özelliklere dair saptama ve belgeleme çalışmalarıyla, mevcutta yer alan bu evler hakkında güncel durum tespiti yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Dört bölümden oluşan bu çalışmada, ilk bölümde Edirne ve Kaleiçi tarihçesi ele alınmış, ikinci bölümde Geleneksel Türk evi ve Edirne Kaleiçi evleri incelenmiş, üçüncü bölümde çalışma kapsamında incelenen Kaleiçi evlerinden tespit edilenler tanımlanmış ve tek tek tablo olarak katalog halinde sunulmuştur. Son bölümde ise çalışmanın değerlendirme ve sonuç kısmı yer almaktadır.
Kaleiçi, one of the oldest settlements of Edirne city, was reconstructed after a great fire called Harik-i Kebir in 1903. Kaleiçi neighborhood, which was rebuilt on a grid plan scheme, consists of an area of 360 acres with a rich cultural accumulation and cultural heritage. Kaleiçi; Consists of two neighborhoods where non-Muslim subjects live predominantly. It has been seen that the houses underwent a lot of deformation from the day they were built to the present day and even some of them could not reach today. With this study, determination and documentation of the architectural and ornamental features of Edirne Kaleiçi houses with their unique architecture belonging to different plan types and characteristics aimed to determine the current status of these houses. In this study, which consists of four sections, in the first section the history of Edirne and Kaleiçi are discussed, in the second section Traditional Turkish House and Edirne Kaleiçi houses are examined. In the third section, the ones identified from Kaleiçi houses examined within the scope of the study are defined and presented as catalogs one by one. In the last section, the evaluation part of the study is given.
