Tereke kayıtlarına göre Bursa Şehri'nde ekonomik ve sosyal hayat (1703-1710)

Abstract

Osmanlı Devleti'nde Şer'iyye Sicilieri'nde yer alan önemli belge türlerinden biri de tereke kayıtlarıdır. Bu kayıtlar mal paylaşımında anlaşamayan kişilerin mahkemeye başvurması ile ya da yetimlerin hakkını korumak amacıyla kadılar tarafından oluşturulan belgelerdir. Ölen kişilerin sahip olduğu tüm mal varlığını gösteren tereke kayıtları, dönemin sosyal ve kültürel hayatının aydınlatılması bakımından önemli bir kaynak niteliğindedir. İçerdiği bilgilerle pek çok açıdan değerlendirilebilen terekeler, dönemin sosyo-ekonomik faaliyetlerinin anlaşılması bakımından değerlidir. Bursa Şer'iyye Sicilieri'nde yer alan B-188, B-190 ve B-155 numaralı defterler içinde yer alan tereke kayıtları bu araştırma kapsamında değerlendirilmiştir. Toplamda 657 tereke kaydı ilk olarak transkript edilip, sonrasında bu veriler farklı açılardan değerlendirilmiştir. Söz konusu defterlerde, bu dönemde Bursa'da yaşayan farklı meslek ve dine sahip kişiler vardır. Söz konusu terekeler arasında Askeri olarak adlandırılan grupla beraber reaya olarak ifade edilen kişilerinde yer alması özelikle bu çalışmayı değerli kılmaktadır. Tereke kayıtlarına göre Bursa'daki ekonomik ve sosyal hayat üzerine tespitler yapmak bu çalışmanın amaçlarından biri olmakla beraber, farklı gelir grubundan olan kişilerin servetlerini analiz etmek de bu çalışmanın diğer amacıdır. Bu kapsam dahilinde söz konusu defterlerde bulunan terekeler incelenmiş ve 18. yüzyılın başlarında Bursa yerelinde kişilerin günlük hayatlarına, servet yapılarına ve refah seviyelerine dair incelemeler yapılmıştır.

One of the important document types in the Şeriyye Registers of Ottoman State is the tereke records. These records are the documents created by the kadı in order to protect the rights of the orphans or the applicants who cannot agree on the distribution of goods. Estate records, which show the documents of deceased people, are the important sources in the sense of reflecting the economic and social life of the period. These records, which could be evaluated in a lot of ways to reveal the rich information they contain, arealso valuable to understand the socio- economic activities of the period. The B-188, B-190 and B-155 numbered records, which are included in Bursa Şer'iyye Registers, were evaluated within the scope of this research. Firstly, 657 total estate records were transcribed, and then, these data were evaluated from different perspectives. In these records, there are people who have different professions and religions living in Bursa during this period. The fact that these estate records included reaya with the so-called military group makes this study valuable. One of the aims of this study is to determine the economic and social life in Bursa based on the tereke records. Besides, it is als o aimed to analyze the wealth of people from different ineome group s in this thesis. Within these scopes, the mentioned items in these records were examined, and in the beginning of the 18th century, the daily life, wealth structures and prosperity levels of the people in Bursa were emphasized.
