Soğuk Savaş döneminde Türk entelektüellerinin Avrupa izlenimleri

Abstract

Osmanlı devrinde en esaslı örneklerini veren Türk gezi literatürü, Osmanlı’nın son devirlerinde gelişme evresine girmiş, cumhuriyet devrinde ise en olgun haline ulaşmıştır. 1945’ten itibaren dünyanın pek çok yeri ile birlikte Soğuk Savaş psikolojisine giren Türkiye’de bu ruh hali, hemen hemen her alana sirayet etmiştir. Soğuk Savaş döneminde Türkiye’de yazılan gezi kitaplarına odaklanan bu çalışmada, Soğuk Savaş politikalarının ve devrin gergin ortamının gezi izlenimlerine yansımalarını, yazarların bu dönemde Avrupa ülkelerini ve onların halklarını nasıl gördüğünü incelemektedir.

Turkish travel literature, which gave its most fundamental examples in the Ottoman period, entered a phase of development in the last periods of the Ottoman Empire and reached its most mature form in the republican era. From 1945 onwards, Turkey, along with many other parts of the world, entered into a Cold War psychology, and this mood permeated almost every field. Focusing on the travel books written in Turkey during the Cold War, this study examines the reflections of Cold War policies and the toxic environment of the period on travel impressions, and how the authors saw European countries and their peoples during this period.
