Sekülerleşen Türkiye’de aileye bakış: Üniversite öğrencileri üzerine bir inceleme

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Türkiye’deki sekülerleşme sürecinin aile yapısı üzerindeki etkilerini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Sekülerleşme, dini etkilerin azalması ve akıl, bireysel düşünme gibi rasyonel temellerin ön plana çıkması sürecidir. Bu dönüşüm, aile kurumunda önemli değişimlere yol açmıştır. Ancak, bu tez, sekülerleşme sürecinin üniversite öğrencileri üzerindeki etkilerini ele alarak, Türkiye'deki aile yapısındaki değişimleri anlamayı hedeflemektedir. Yeni neslin aile kurma kararlarını nasıl şekillendirdiği ve geleneksel aile yapısına bakışlarının nasıl evrildiği de bu çalışmanın temel sorularındandır. Araştırma kapsamında, nitel araştırma yönteminin bir veri toplama tekniği olan mülakat yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Toplanan veriler, betimsel analiz yöntemiyle incelenmiş ve bu analiz sonucunda çalışmanın temel bulguları elde edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, sekülerleşmenin üniversite öğrencilerinin aile kurumuna bakış açılarında bazı değişikliklere yol açtığını göstermektedir. Öğrencilerin bir kısmı, geleneksel aile yapısını ve dini inançları korurken, bir kısmı ise bireyselci bir yaklaşımı benimsemektedir. Bununla birlikte, sekülerleşme sürecine rağmen, öğrenciler arasında aile kurma isteğinin sürdüğü görülmektedir. Bu durum, sekülerleşmenin aile kurumu üzerinde mutlak bir yıkım yaratmadığını, aksine geleneksel değerlerin daha esnek ve dönüşüm geçirmiş bir biçimde varlığını sürdürdüğünü göstermektedir.

This study aims to examine the impact of the secularization process on family structure in Turkey. Secularization refers to the process in which religious influences diminish, and rational principles such as reason, individual thought, and autonomy become more prominent. This transformation has led to significant changes in the family institution. However, this thesis specifically focuses on the effects of the secularization process on university students and aims to understand the changes occurring in Turkey's family structure. One of the main questions of this study is how the younger generation shapes their decisions regarding family formation and how their perspectives on the traditional family structure have evolved. Within the scope of the research, the interview method, which is a data collection technique of the qualitative research method, was utilized. The data collected through these interviews were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method, and the main findings of the study were obtained as a result of this analysis. The findings reveal that secularization has led to certain changes in university students' perspectives on the family institution. While some students continue to uphold the traditional family structure and religious beliefs, others adopt a more individualistic approach. Despite the influence of the secularization process, it has been observed that students still maintain a desire to establish a family. This indicates that secularization does not entirely disrupt the family institution. On the contrary, it demonstrates that traditional values continue to exist in a more flexible and transformed form, adapting to social change.
