Bursa Arkeoloji Müzesi pithosları örnekleriyle Antik Çağda pithosların kullanımı üzerine değerlendirme

Abstract

Antik Çağ'da insanların yiyecek ve içeceklerini saklama yöntemleri, tarımsal ve ticari faaliyetlerin gelişimine büyük katkılarda bulunmuştur. Pithoslar, bu dönemin önemli depolama kapları arasında yer alarak, insanların tarımsal üretimlerindeki verimliliği artmış ve ticaretin imkanlarını genişletmiştir. Bursa Arkeoloji Müzesi'nde yer alan pithoslann incelenmesi, hem yerel hem de ticari dinamiklerin daha iyi anlaşılmasına olanak tanıyarak, bölgenin sosyo-ekonomik tarihini aydınlatmaktadır. Bursa Arkeoloji Müzesi bahçesinde sergilenmekte olan on altı adet pithos, Antik Çağ depolama kaplarının kullanımı üzerinden incelenmiş, bahse konu pithosların tipolojik olarak sınıflandırmaları yapılmıştır. Söz konusu eserlerin tarihlendirme çalışmaları benzer örnekler ışığında yapılarak eserlerin yerel veya ticari özelliklere sahip olup olmadığı araştırılarak pithosların bölge üzerindeki sosyo-ekonomik önemi hakkında gözlemlerde bulunulmuştur.

The methods by which people stored their food and beverages in the Ancient Age greatly contributed to the development of agricultural and commercial activities. Pithoi were among the important storage containers of this period, increasing the efficiency of agricultural production and expanding trade possibilities. The study of the pithoi located in the Bursa Archaeological Museum allows for a better understanding of both local and commercial dynamics, shedding light on the socio-economic history of the region. Sixteen pithoi displayed in the garden of the Bursa Archaeological Museum have been examined through the Jens of the use of Ancient Age storage containers, and their typological classifications have been made. The dating of these artifacts has been carried out based on similar examples, and an investigation into whether the artifacts possess local or commercial characteristics has been conducted, leading to observations regarding the socio-economic significance of the pithoi in the region.
