Karar alma sürecine kişilik sistemlerinin etkisi ve liderlik

Abstract

Ekonomik, sosyal ve politik yönden büyük değişimlerin yaşandığı günümüzde liderlik, bir etkileme süreci ve ilişki biçimi olarak ele alınır. İktidarın ele geçirilmesi ve doğru olarak kullanılması üzerinde yoğunlaşan siyasi liderlik ise kitleleri etkilemek suretiyle toplumsal değişimleri gerçekleştirebilecek bir süreci ihtiva eder. Bu açıdan bakıldığında, sonuçlarının gelecekte elde edilmesi ve geleceğin belirsizliğini taşıması nedeniyle karar alma faaliyeti, bu sürecin can alıcı bölümünü oluşturur. Karar alma sürecini etkileyen birçok faktör olmakla birlikte, siyasi liderlerin kişisel özelliklerini, deneyimlerini, yeteneklerini kapsayan bireysel faktörlerin, siyasi karar alma sürecini etkileyen en önemli unsur olduğu açıktır. Bu çalışmada, siyasi liderlerin kişilik sistemlerinin karar alma sürecine olan etkisi ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Mustafa Kemâl Atatürk model olarak ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada liderlik, karar alma süreci ve bu sürece liderlerin kişilik özelliklerinin etkileri üç ayrı bölümde incelenmiş, çalışmayla ilgili değerlendirmelere ise Atatürk'ün model olarak çerçevelendirilmesi ışığında son bölümde yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın sınırlılıkları dolayısıyla siyasi liderlik kavramı, Machiavelli'nin hükümdara atfettiği özellikler ve Max Weber' in otorite anlayışı ele alınarak incelenmiş, kişilik sistemlerinin karar alma sürecine olan etkileri araştırılırken ise araç olarak, psikoloji biliminin öncülerinden olan Cari Gustave Jung tarafından kuramlaştırılan sekiz kişilik tipi kullanılmıştır. Tüm bu incelemelerin sonunda, siyasi liderlerin sahip olduğu kişilik özelliklerinin karar alma süreci üzerinde büyük bir etkiye sahip olduğu değerlendirilmiştir.

Leadership is thought to be a process of influence and a way of relationship in today's world at which great changes are seen in the respect of economics, society and politics. Political leadership which focuses on seizing the power and using it appropriately includes a process that can realize social changes by influencing the society. In this respect, decision-making is the core point of this process as its results which do have the vagueness of the future can be reached in future. Although there are many factors that influence the process of decision-making, it is obvious that the individual factors including the personal properties, experiences, abilities of the political leaders are the most important elements influincing the process of decision-making. This study aims to figure out the effects of personality systems of political leaders on decision making process. In this context Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was analiezed as a model. In this study leadership, decision making process and the effects of leader's personality traits on this process has been dealt with in three different sections, and the evaluations about the study are stated in the last section under the light in which Atatürk is presented as a model. Because of the limitations of the study, the concept of political leadership is studied by taking the traits stated in "The Rules" by Machiavelli and Max Weber's understanding of the authority into account. On the other hand, while the effects of personality systems on decision making process are being explored, eight personality types which were theorized by Carl Gustave Jung who is one of the pioneers in science of psychology have been used. Eventually, it has been evaluated that the personality traits of poitical leaders have a great impact on decision-making process.
