Kurumsal yönetimin; finansman, yatırım kararları ve firma performansı üzerindeki etkisi: BIST kurumsal yönetim endeksinde bir uygulama

Abstract

İşletmeler açısından, kurumsal yönetimin önemi gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Kurumsal yönetim anlayışına sahip işletmelerde, kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarının doğrudan ve dolaylı olarak firma performansı, finansman ve yatırım kararları üzerindeki etkisi bulunmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda bu çalışmanın amacı, kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarının firma performansı, finansman ve yatırım kararları üzerindeki etkisinin araştırılıp incelenmesidir. Bu çalışmada, diğer çalışmalardan farklı olarak kurumsal yönetim puanı da değişken olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bu amaç ile BIST Kurumsal Yönetim Endeksinde bulunan imalat sektöründeki 11 adet işletmenin 2013-2021 yılları arasındaki bilanço ve gelir tablosu verileri kullanılarak finansal oranlar hesaplanmış ve söz konusu veriler panel veri analizi yöntemi ile test edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonucunda, kurumsal yönetimin, firma performansına, finansman ve yatırım kararlarına etkisinin olduğu saptanmıştır.In terms of businesses, the importance of corporate governance is increasing day by day. Corporate governance practices have a direct and indirect effect on firm performance, financing, and investment decisions in businesses with a corporate governance approach. In this direction, the aim of this thesis and research is to investigate and examine the effects of corporate governance practices on firm performance, financing, and investment decisions. In this study, the corporate governance score is also taken into account as a variable in the study conducted independently from the others. In this way, data related to the importance of corporateness and its effects on companies will be obtained. For this purpose, financial ratios were calculated using the data in the balance sheets and income statements of 11 companies in the manufacturing sector in the BIST Corporate Governance Index between the years 2013-2021, and then panel data analysis was made with these data. As a result of the study, it has been determined that corporate governance has an effect on firm performance, financing, and investment decisions.
