In this study, consolation, commemorate the dead and the lament of women as a topic of the mourning poems, which include the tellings of different scenes that women hide in their inner world, the way women lament and their behaviors during lament, beating themselves, tearing clothes, pulling hair, hitting the ground and some other details are discussed. In the Arabic dictionaries, the word “nadb” is defined by above mentioned feelings/actions. Old women who had lost a dear one feel the pain more deeply than the rented paid mourners, who are perfected in it. However, the importance of this craft faded with the advent of Islām, which forbade the manifestations of exaggeration in the mourning of women. Because some of their manifestations violate the system of values and moral ideals that Islam urged the people of society to adopt. The research also deals with some of the philosophical contents of women's mourning which are considered a strong pillar in the poem of lamentation genre in general. Because women's lamentation was characterized by some feelings that are seen rarely in men's lamentation. Women’s lamentation is rooted deeply in the distinct traditions in pre-Islamic society. The results of the research are also included in the article.
