dc.description.abstractThe Healthy Cities Movement initiated by the WHO, urban health, the significant of which increased over time, and the associated higher quality of life in cities, support long-term sustainability. Attributes such as green spaces, healthy habitats, safe and inclusive urban facilities, and governance, awareness and education assistance that constitute healthy cities and support the health of urban citizens lead to democratic, healthy and high quality of life, safe and habitable cities with social interaction, and as it is transformed into built environment, transportation and governance decisions in urban planning, it supports sustainability. In this context, in Bursa, an urban area with significant historical and cultural heritage and the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, both the metropolitan municipality and the district municipalities have prioritized urban health. Turkish Healthy Cities Association is located in Bursa, leading to the organization of numerous seminars, meetings and conferences where academicians, municipalities, self-employed architects and planners could meet with stakeholders such as NGOs and share and implement ideas. One of the studies on urban health, high participation consultation meetings were organized before the by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. The published Consultation Meetings Analysis Results with the participation of Bursa Uludag University, NGOs, municipalities and Academic Chambers, and workgroups provides a significant data source for the analysis of urban health. Regional data discussed in the meetings, HDI-D results, and the findings of various studies were analyzed and recommendations to support healthy cities were proposed in the publication based on various studies conducted in different cities in the world.
