The threats and risks in personal data security

Abstract

With the widespread usage of information and communication technologies rapidly and the increase in data storage and transformation electronically it is very important to provide personal data security and raising security awareness in public. One of the most problematic issues about information technologies are the ones relating with personal and vital data security. Within the context of this study 170 students studying at Uludag University were given questionnaire to evaluate their level of data security awareness. With the result of it was seen that students are lack of the issue of information security and it was decided that people need to increase their awareness about this issue within education and some advice was given.
