Abstract

Pulse oximeters are widely used in the intensive care unit, during anaesthesia and recovery, in the emergency care and transport. Complications related to pulse oximetry occur rarely. In this paper, we report a 23 year old women suffered from burn at her left big toe related to the site of placement of pulse oximeter probe. This hazard and prevention mechanisms were discussed.
