This study has been conducted in order to review the effects of CIDR and prostaglandin applications for reproductive parameters on 40 head Kivircik ewes during anoestrus season, which were bred at Uludag University Agriculture Faculty Research and Application Farm. The of ewes were randomly divided into 2 groups, CIDRs (Controlled Internal Drug Release) containing 0.33 g progesterone were inserted into vagina in the first 20 head of ewes, and then removed after 14 days. And for the other 20 head of ewes in the second group, a single dose of intramuscular 3 ml PGF(2 alpha) has been applied. Following the removal of vaginal apparatuses and PGF(2 alpha) injection, intramuscular 300 IU PMSG was injected to every ewes. After 24 hours as of application, rams were added in the herd. Although the results obtained in terms of reproductive parameters such as number of lambs born, litter size and multiple birth rate were higher for the CIDR applied ewes compared to PGF(2 alpha) ones, they were not found statistically significant. The obtained values for the lambs born in terms of birth weight, type of birth, weaning weight and daily live weight gain are close to each other in both groups. During anoestrus period, it was identified that the effects of CIDR and single dose prostaglandin applications on Kivircik ewes were similar effects in terms of synchronization of the estrous and fecundity.
