Kamusal alanlarda mekânsal konforun antropometri çerçevesinde değerlendirilmesi: Pendik Millet Bahçesi örneği

Abstract

Kentsel yeşil alanlar, İstanbul gibi bir kentte refahın önemli bir unsuru olan, beton yapıyı yumuşatan, kent havasını arındıran, insanların boş zamanlarını geçirebilecekleri alanlardır. Bu anlamda İstanbul’un merkezi ve ferah bir bölgesinde oluşturulan, konumu itibariyle zengin bir görsel peyzaja sahip olan Pendik Millet Bahçesi çalışma alanı olarak seçilmiştir. Antropometri genel olarak insanın büyüklüğünü belirleme veya insan vücudunun ölçülmesi ve kullanılması bilimi olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Buna göre, en iyi koşullarda fiziksel konfor ve kaliteyi sağlamak için kullanılan malzemeler, çalışma yüzeyleri ve hacimler insan boyutuna uygun olmalıdır. Antropometri bilimi insan vücuduna uyum sağlayan tasarımların geliştirilmesine olanak sağladığı için antropometri veriler giderek önem kazanmaktadır. Kamusal alanlarda kullanıcıların rekreasyonel alan tasarımında antropometri standartlar önemli rol oynamaktadır. Çalışmada Pendik Millet Bahçesi'nde bulunan donatı elemanları peyzaj tasarımı kriterleri açısından incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı Pendik Millet Bahçesi'nin kullanıcıları için insan ve antropometri ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesidir. Elde edilen verilere göre Pendik Millet Bahçesi'ndeki tasarım ve uygulamaların insan vücut ölçüleriyle uyumlu olup olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışmadaki bulgulara göre yapısal ve bitkisel unsurların antropometri ölçümlerle eşleşmediği durumlar bulunmaktadır. Bu durum Pendik Millet Bahçesi'ndeki donatıların standartlara uymadığı ve özellikle güvenlik açısından tehlike oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Urban green spaces are important elements of well-being in cities like Istanbul, softening the concrete landscape, purifying the urban air, and providing areas for people to spend their leisure time. In this context, the Pendik Nation Garden, located in a central and spacious area with a rich visual landscape, has been selected as the study area. Anthropometry is generally defined as the science of determining the size of the human body or the measurement and use of human body dimensions. Accordingly, in order to achieve physical comfort and quality under optimal conditions, materials, work surfaces, and volumes should be suited to human dimensions. Since anthropometry enables the development of designs that conform to the human body, anthropometric data has gained increasing importance. In public spaces, anthropometric standards play a significant role in the design of recreational areas for users. This study examines the design elements of the Pendik Nation Garden in terms of landscape design criteria. The aim of the study is to evaluate the relationship between humans and anthropometry in the context of Pendik Nation Garden’s users. Based on the data collected, it was determined whether the design and implementations in Pendik Nation Garden align with human body dimensions. The findings of the study indicate that there are instances where structural and plant elements do not match anthropometric measurements. This misalignment reveals that the park’s design elements do not comply with standards, particularly posing potential safety risks.
