Abstract

This study summarizes Russian population's historical evolution, and then examines causes, results, effects and reflections of demographic crises influencing Russia during Soviet and Postsoviet period. The study approves that political and economic crisis in Russia caused and deepened the demographic crisis during Postsoviet period. The study claims that since demographic crisis in Russia has social, cultural and moral aspects, as long as Russians have economic, social, moral, and psychological problems, it will be difficult to avoid demographic crises in Russia. The study lists major factors to avoid national demographic crisis.
