Yaşlanan nüfusun makro iktisadi tesirleri: Türkiye örneği

Abstract

Yaşlanan nüfus gelişmiş ülkelere has bir durum gibi görünmekle birlikte aslında tüm ülkelerin geçirmekte olduğu sürecin bir sonucudur. Günümüzde gelişmekte olan ülkeler de bu sürecin sonuna doğru yaklaşmakta ve nüfusları giderek yaşlanmaktadır. Bu değişimin yaşandığı gelişmiş ülkeler gözlemlenerek yazılan teoriler bugün gelişmekte olan ülkeler üzerinde test edilmektedir. Sanayileşme ile birlikte gelişen bu süreç sosyo-iktisadi gelişmelerin bir sonucu olduğu gibi aynı zamanda önemli iktisadi değişmelere de neden olmaktadır. Çalışmada bu iki taraflı etki Türkiye için irdelenerek, ampirik modellerle de test edilmiştir ve Türkiye’de 1969 – 2001 dönemi için nüfusun yaşlanması ile iktisadi büyüme arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişki bulunmuştur.Aging population is a situation that is not only a feature of industrialized countries but it is also valid for all countries. Today developing countries are affected by this process and their populations are getting older. Theories developed to explain the process as it in industrialized countries have been tested in developing countries. This process has not only been a result of socio-economic improvements but also led to important economic changes since the beginning of industrialization. In this study this two sided effect has been investigated and tested by empirical models and found a long-run relation between aging population and economic growth in Turkey for the period 1969-2001.
