dc.description.abstractThe study was carried out between September 2005 and June 2006 for the detection of Eimeria species in the cattle of Bitlis province and revealed presence of Eimeria in 96 (55.49%) of 173 cattle. Ten different Eimeria species were identified in the cattle identified in the cattle of Bitlis province. The species and prevalence were Eimeria bovis (41.04%), E. auburnensis (29.48%), E. ziyernii'(26.59%), E. cylindrica (10.98%), E. braziliensis (6.94%), E. alabamensis (6.36%), E. subsperica (5.20%), E. bukidnonensis (3.47%), E. canadensis (2.31%) and E. ellipsoidalis (1.73%). In this study, E. bovis (41.04%), E. auburnensis (29.48%) and E. zuernii (26.59%) were the most prevalent species.
