dc.description.abstractThis paper is concerned with the experimental analysis of the steady state and the transient dynamic behavior of a chain continuously variable transmission (CVT), aimed at comparing the experimental observations with the predictions of the CMM model of CVT transmissions. The experiments shown in this paper are performed measuring the outcomes of a dynamic response to a step change of the clamping forces ratio for different torque loads. The exper­iments show a very good agreement between the theoretical predictions and the experi­mental outcomes thus proving the correctness of the CMM model.
