In vitro propagation of galanthus elwesii hook (snowdrop)

Abstract

Galanthus (Snowdrop) has an important value among native flower bulbs, which are collected—from the flora of Turkey. The unconscious uprooting of this plant causes a rapid reduce of total amount of Galanthus. In this study, bulblet propagation of Galanthus elwesii Hook in vitro was studied to determine the suitable explant type, nutrient media, and growth regulators and concentrations on bulblet formation. © 2004 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
