Polen ornamentasyonu psilaperforat tiptedir. Tohumlar kahverengi renkte olup ornamentasyonu retikulattır.
In this study, systematic, morphological, anatomical and palynological features of the endemic Orobanchaceae family Pedicularis olympica Boiss. species, which is distributed in Bursa Uludağ, at altitudes of 1600–2300 meters and in areas where the groundwater is high, were investigated. The species has an unbranched, simple, ascending stem and is hairy. The flowers are rose-red in color, subulate spike-shaped, and very floriferous. The fruits are stalked, oblong, with an oval tip and a pointed protrusion. The calyx and corolla are hairy. In root anatomy, the outermost layer consists of a double-rowed epidermis, beneath which is the cortex parenchyma, composed of thin-walled, oval cells with intercellular spaces. A single-rowed endodermis and collateral vascular bundle are present. Stem anatomy features a double-layered epidermis and secondary growth. From the outside to the inside, there are two rows of epidermis, a cortex parenchyma with aeration cavities, an endodermis, and a central cylinder. The vascular bundle is collateral. The phloem and xylem are ring-shaped around the pith. The pith has large cavities. Biface-type leaves are seen. Under the upper epidermis, there is a single-layered palisade parenchyma and a spongy parenchyma with 3–4 cell rows and 2–3 cell-sized spaces. The upper epidermis has a thicker cuticle layer. There are no stomata or hairs in the upper epidermis; the lower epidermis has abundant stomata and hairs. The vascular bundle is collateral. The leaves are pinnatifid or pinnatisect in structure, with basal leaves stalked and emerging in a bundle from the leaf sheath. Stem leaves are few in number, sessile, and arranged alternately. Sessile, lanceolate bracts emerge from the base of the flower stalk. The pollen type is bisyncolpat, the shape is subprolate, and it is close to the upper limit of small pollen grains. The pollen ornamentation is psilaperforate. The seeds are brown in color with reticulate ornamentation.
