Mevlana Jelaleddin Rumi and Mawlawiyah, which was flourished by his ideas, had great impacts in Turkish mysticism and culture. Mawlawis, known and admired by a wide circle of people of the art and culture for ages, gave great importance to poetry and poets because of the fact that Mevlana, who was their leader, was an outstanding poet. This situation led Mawlawiyah to the first place of the religious sects of which the poets of Divan in our literature admired. The number of the Mawlawi poets remarkably increased by 16th. Century. In that century, Asafi Dal Mehmed Celebi was one of the poets who noticeably devoted himself to the Mawlawiyah. In this study, the life of Asafi Dal Mehmed Celebi, not much taken into consideration in Mawlawi literature, his only work mathnawi Secaat-name, and his literary personality have been explored.
