dc.description.abstract | Effective utilisation and disposal of textile wastes requires an accurate prediction of solid waste generation. This research predicted the waste quantity generated in households and in industrial facilities in Turkey via surveys, factory research and official databases. Recycling methods, products and the profile of recycling sector were investigated. Approximately 884,890 tonnes of textile waste was generated in 2009. Dialogue problems between manufacturers and recyclers as well as a lack of collection of post-consumer waste were the main reasons for the low recycling ratio. | en_US |
