Mesnevîhânlık geleneği ve mesnevîhân şairler

Abstract

Bu tez, Mesnevîhânlık geleneğini edebî, bilimsel, kültürel ve kurumsal yönleriyle kapsamlı biçimde ele almaktadır. Toplam 91 şair Mesnevîhân tespit edilmiş; ayrıca şair olmamakla birlikte geleneğin güçlü temsilcileri arasında yer alan 5 önemli isim de çalışmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Bu şahsiyetlerin biyografileri, Mesnevî eğitimi aldıkları kaynaklar, faaliyet yürüttükleri coğrafyalar ve yetiştirdikleri talebeler ayrıntılı biçimde incelenmiş; şair olanların şiirlerinden örnekler sunulmuştur. Mevlânâ’nın hayatı ve Mesnevî’nin yazım süreci kaynaklara dayalı olarak özetlenmiş; Mesnevî’nin klasik Türk edebiyatındaki estetik ve poetik etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Mesnevîhânlar yalnızca edebî bir figür değil, aynı zamanda tasavvufî, kültürel ve sosyal bir otorite olarak konumlandırılmıştır. Çalışmada, Mesnevî’nin camilerde, tekkelerde, konaklarda ve medreselerde okutularak geniş kitlelere ulaştığı; Dâru’l-Mesnevîler aracılığıyla kurumsallaştığı tespit edilmiştir. Mesnevîhânların farklı tarikatlara mensubiyetleri, geleneğin Mevlevîlik sınırlarını aşarak tasavvufî gelenekler arasında ortak bir kıraat ve yorum pratiğine dönüştüğünü göstermektedir. Ayrıca, anlatıcının metin anlamı üzerindeki belirleyici rolü vurgulanmış, birey merkezli modern okuma biçimlerinin bu çok katmanlı yapıyı anlamada yetersiz kaldığı ifade edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, Mesnevîhânlık geleneği Somut Olmayan Kültürel Miras kapsamında yaşatılabilir bir kültürel değer olarak değerlendirilmiş; aynı zamanda geleneksel bilgi aktarımı ve kıraat kültürü üzerinden bilim tarihine önemli bir katkı sunduğu ortaya konmuştur.

This thesis provides a comprehensive examination of the tradition of Mathnawi- khanship, analyzing its literary, scientific, cultural, and institutional dimensions. A total of 90 poet Mathnawi-khans have been identified, along with 5 prominent non-poet figures who were also significant representatives of the tradition. The biographies of these individuals, the sources from which they received their Mathnawi education, the regions in which they operated, and the disciples they trained are presented in detail. Selected poems are included to exemplify the literary identities of the poet Mathnawi- khans. The life of Rumi and the writing process of the Mathnawi are summarized based on historical sources, and the work's aesthetic and poetic impact on classical Turkish literature is evaluated. Mathnawi-khans are portrayed not only as literary figures but also as cultural, Sufi, and social authorities. The thesis reveals that the Mathnawi was recited widely in mosques, lodges, mansions, and madrasas, eventually gaining institutional structure through the establishment of Dâr al-Mathnawi centers. The affiliation of Mathnawi-khans with various Sufi orders beyond the Mevlevî tradition demonstrates that Mathnawi-khanship evolved into a shared practice of recitation and interpretation across different mystical schools. The study emphasizes the central role of the narrator in constructing meaning and contrasts this with modern, individual- centered reading approaches, which often fall short in comprehending the multilayered structure of the Mathnawi. In conclusion, the tradition of Mathnawi-khanship is assessed as an intangible cultural heritage with the potential for preservation and revival, while also contributing significantly to the history of science through its role in traditional knowledge transmission and oral interpretative culture.
