| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between students' external university prestige perception and their intention to remain or drop out. This study was carried out among 318 university students. Structural equation modeling was used to estimate the relationship between perceived external prestige and turnover intention using competing configuration models. The results reveal that perceived external prestige has an indirect and negative impact on turnover intention through the partially mediating effect of affective commitment to their universtity and group-based self-esteem. Analysis also showed that cognitive organizational identification did not have any impact on students' turnover intention, which was an unexpected result. The implications of the findings and directions for future research are also discussed. | |
