Interdisciplinary instructing approach is one of the most frequently applied approaches when complex information structures are transferred to teaching processes. In this research, contemporary art knowledge structure is considered to be a complex structure that feeds and contradictory structures of modern and postmodern knowledge structures. The aim of this research is to understand how interdisciplinary the course of contemporary art is conducted and how it is perceived by the experiences of the sample. For this purpose, in this qualitative research, a research has been conducted by using the basic methods such as interview, observation and document analysis, adhering to the basic principles of phenomenology. The study group of the research consists of Contemporary Art course instructor. 13 students and 4 guest lecturers who participated in the Fine Arts Department of Anadolu University Education Faculty in 2012-2013 spring term. The data collected in line with the principle of diversity were analyzed with the method of thematic analysis. The roles of lecturers, guest lecturers and students are presented in the findings as themes. As a result, the interdisciplinarite' experienced during the course was experienced as an interdisciplinarity planned by the instructor with the stakeholders and so. the discussion was carried out by supporting the literature with the results of this approach in the contemporary art course-Accordingly, it is emphasized in the discussion that the instructor conducts the contemporary art course as an interdisciplinary course with its disciplinarian role and planned as an interdisciplinary course with stakeholders and that the disciplines and experiences are assembled in the process. Among the suggestions of the research, practical suggestions such as organising interdisciplinary courses in higher education institutions and programs and training of academic staff capable of making these assembling were presented. In addition to this, prospective research suggestions have been made on which researches can be conducted from different perspectives with various research methods with similar context and purposes or in which different areas or different assembling the interdisciplinary teaching approach can be applied.
