Abstract

Dianthus malyeri (sect. Dentati) is described and illustrated as a new species from Bursa Province, in northwestern Anatolia, T & uuml;rkiye. The new species morphologically resembles D. elegans, but distinctly differs in its longer, with more nodes stems, shorter leaves, shorter calyx, as well as shorter petals with 6-11-toothed at apex. A detailed description, photographs, a morphological comparision with D. elegans vars. elegans and cous, IUCN conservation status assessment, distribution map, notes on ecology of the new species are presented.
