Abstract

Politikanın Bilimselleştirilmesi: David Easton ve Siyaset Biliminde Yöntem Tartışmaları başlıklı bu tez; üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Tezdeki temel sorunlar; yöntem tartışmaları kavramını ve bu kavramın siyaset incelemelerinin bilimsellik kazanmasındaki etkisini, son olarak da David Easton'un bu tartışmalardaki yerini temel alarak kurgulanmıştır. Yöntem tartışmaları geniş kapsamlı bir kavram olarak bilimsel yöntemin zihinsel ve eylemsel yönlerini tarihsel çerçevede betimler. Siyaset incelemelerinin bilimsellik kazanması sürecinde bu tartışmalar, Easton'a kadar görgül olan ve olmayan incelemeler şeklinde ayrılmıştır. Bir davranışçı olarak David Easton ise amacını, -iki tip teoriye eleştirilerle birlikte- siyaset teorisinin bilimselleştirilmesi için genel ve emprik bir teori olarak belirlemiştir. Dolayısıyla David Easton'un görüşleri, siyasetin bilimselleştirilmesi için yöntem tartışmalarında merkezi bir rol oynamaktadır.

This thesis, titled Scientification of Politics: David Easton and Debates on Method in Political Science, consists of three parts. Basic problems in the thesis has been built over debates on method as a concept; its effect in the process of scientification of politics, and finally, analyzing David Easton's place in this debates. Debates on method as a broad-scoped concept, describes cognitive and operational aspects of scientific method within their historical framework. During political research achieving scientificness; mentioned debates divided as emprical and non-emprical inquiry. Easton, as a behavioralist, sets his aim to –with criticism to both two types of theory- a general and emprical theory for scientification of political theory. Hence; David Easton's opinions play a central role on debates over method for the scientification of politics.
