Abstract
Hadith scholars have made some efforts to better understand in practice the hadith corpus formed by the compilation and classification of hadiths, which are considered one of the basic sources of the Islamic religion. The most intense manifestation of these efforts is seen in the commentaries. Based on these efforts, annotation writing activities have occurred due to a number of reasons. The need to write commentaries should not be seen as the result of an effort to fully understand. In our opinion, this is the most important reason, but there are other reasons besides the need to understand. The first of this is the general effort of commentators to understand and explain the hadiths in terms of both content and text, and the second is a number of special reasons caused by the influence of the commentators’ own inner world or environment. In our study, we tried to determine what these reasons are that affect the effort to understand the hadiths in terms of content and text. Commenting on a hadith work is undoubtedly the result of an important effort. Some features of the works created by the commentators while carrying out these efforts, which are generally considered as an understanding activity, give us information about the general structure of the commentaries. These features cause us to benefit from hadiths in a positive or negative way. We examined these features of commentaries in terms of their contribution to the correct understanding of hadiths. In the last chapter, where we discussed the effects of hadith commentaries on our understanding of hadiths today, with examples, we discussed some marriage and divorce issues. We tried to examine how the topics were discussed in hadith commentaries.
