Abstract
Bu araştırma, ortaokul kademesinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sosyal sermaye ile öz yeterlilik düzeylerini farklı değişkenlerle incelemeyi ve sosyal sermaye ile öz yeterlilik düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma evrenini, 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında Bursa ilinin çevre ilçesi olan Yenişehir’de bulunan ortaokul düzeyindeki okullar oluşturmaktadır. 5., 6., 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin tamamı araştırma kapsamındadır. Evrende bulunan okullardan 1’i özel okul, 11’i devlet okulu olup toplamda 12 okul bulunmaktadır.
This study aims to examine the social capital and self-efficacy levels of secondary school students with different variables and to reveal the relationship between social capital and self-efficacy levels. The population of the research consists of secondary schools in Yenişehir, the peripheral district of Bursa province, in the 2023-2024 academic year. All 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students were included in the study. Among the schools in the population, 1 is a private school, 11 are public schools and there are 12 schools in total. Two of the schools are Imam Hatip middle schools and the others are normal middle schools. The distribution according to their location in the village and center is 4 village schools and 8 center schools. In addition, the socioeconomic environment includes schools located in low, middle and high income regions. The sample size was 1063, of which 513 were boys and 550 were girls. Quantitative research methods were used, and data were collected through scales. The scales used are the Middle School Self-Efficacy Scale and the Social Capital Scale for Primary School Second Cycle Students. The results of the applied scales were analyzed statistically and evaluated. The research found that the students have a moderate level of social capital perception and a high level of self-efficacy perception. A moderate and positive significant relationship (p<.05, r=0.461) was found between the students' perceptions of social capital and self-efficacy. Based on this finding, it can be said that as students' perceptions of social capital increase, their perceptions of self-efficacy also increase.
