dc.description.abstractIn this paper a mathematical limit approach of the relationship between fabric reflectance and fabric dye content is derived. The relation obtained from Kubelka-Munk equation is used because the Kubelka-Munk equation is the basic relationship among fabric reflectance, fabric dye content and dyestuff characteristics. The limit approach derived in this paper is applied to the laboratory dyeings and the dyeing behaviour of some disperse dyes on polyester microfibre fabrics has been obtained. The results of the laboratory experiments are discussed by using the new mathematical approach. Due to the results obtained from mathematical approach and experimental part, the limit relation is not valid for all dye concentration ranges but limited for low dye concentration applications.
